AgentAI Expands into Eye Care and Dermatology with Fourth Acquisition
AgentAI today announced the acquisition of a leading eye-care and dermatology billing company, its fourth acquisition and the latest step in its strategy of buying elite specialty billing companies and rebuilding them around its agentic AI platform.
Eye care and dermatology bring two of medicine's highest-volume, modifier-dense billing environments — from ophthalmic diagnostic-test bundling to dermatology's biopsy-and-destruction coding families — where first-pass accuracy decides whether practices are paid in days or in months.
"Three years ago we said we'd build a new kind of billing company: agents doing the work, specialty experts owning the result," said Zorik Gordon, CEO of AgentAI. "With eye care and dermatology, that model now covers five major specialties. Every practice we serve gets the same promise — every claim tracked from upload to payment, and nothing goes quiet."
The acquired team's billers join AgentAI's specialty pillars, overseeing agents that handle intake, coding support, submission, payer status checks, and payment posting around the clock. On mature books, agents handle up to 95% of platform actions, with veteran billers reviewing the work and fighting for hard-to-collect dollars.
"Practice owners tell us the same thing in every specialty: they don't want another dashboard, they want their money and a straight answer," Gordon added. "That's what this team delivers — and the agents make sure nothing goes quiet."
AgentAI, founded in 2023 and backed by a growth investment co-led by Transformation Capital and EIR Partners, now serves practices across podiatry, urology, PT/OT, eye care, dermatology, and multispecialty groups. The company name and terms were not disclosed.
